Our goal is to introduce pilots to mountain flying basics. Main objective is to teach safety-oriented decision making in mountains, flying techniques and to familiarize pilots with various types of lift in mountains.
The course syllabus has a distance learning package covering theoretical material to study over internet. The areas covered include human performance and limitations, oxygen systems, piloting techniques, meteorological subjects and area oriented material. Theoretical material is mostly on distance learning material. Daily briefings cover weather, objectives and debriefing.

Includes instruction (8 flying days) and local membership fees. Glider rental, tows and accomodation are not included.

Expect 1 - 2 hours of flying per day (weather permitting).

Accomodation is available in different, nearby locations and prices are very low. We recommend a facility in the village close to the airfield: 20€/night - breakfast included. Contact us for reservation.
There are also hotels nearby. Restaurants are reasonably priced. There is a bar at the airfield.
We recommend that you travel via the major airports in either Barcelona, Madrid or Zaragosa and hire a rental car there. Santa Sicilia and the surrounding area is very idyllic and we absolutely recommend that you bring your partner. The Camino de Santiago pilgrim route passes close by.
